Welcome to the New Buyers section of our website. The Willowhayne estate is private and is maintained by the Willowhayne Residents’ Association Limited (WRA), on behalf of all the estate’s residents. We are sure that either as a new owner or potential new owner you have lots of questions and queries about the estate. This website has been designed to help you answer many of those questions and to signpost you to areas of helpful information. You will notice that some areas of our website are restricted to residents only but a password will be supplied to you once you have applied to become a WRA member.
The cost of maintaining the estate is paid for by an annual Estate Rate applied to each property on the estate. This rate is based on the Council Tax band that the property is assigned by the local council. A table of the current charges, by Council Tax band, can be found here. Finance Page. The Estate Rates are due, in advance, on 1st January each year.
In order to retain the appearance of the estate there are restrictions on alterations to properties and WRA planning approval is required before these are carried out. These are in addition to any planning permissions required by the local council, Arun District Council. Please read the Building Applications and Drives & Boundaries sections on this web site.
When you are considering purchasing a property on the Willowhayne Estate you should ensure that your solicitor contacts our managing agents, Hobdens, to check if there are any outstanding estate rates, planning issues or disputes relating to the property. There may also be covenants with the WRA restricting the transfer of the property.
